STARRINGCAMP

At our starringSMU’s Freshmen Orientation Camp, we welcome our freshmen with a fun-filled two-day camp. Introducing freshmen to the SMU campus and giving freshmen and facilitators a wholly novel and enjoyable experience.

ABOUT US

Established since 2007, starringSMU is the largest community service project held for freshmen joining our institution each year. Presently in its sixth consecutive year, starringSMU’s projects have impacted more than 5,000 people in the community over the course of three years. The intent of starringSMU is to nurture a culture of caring and bonding in society through the execution of its community service projects.

    Looking for friends to hang out in school? Craving for some fun? Kickstart your semester with the most happening camp in SMU! Join starringCAMP, where YOU will get to experience the joy of giving and at the same time make new friends through the awesome teambuilding games we have in place! starringCAMP also hopes to raise awareness of the less fortunate community in Singapore and YOU will get to interact with our beneficiaries personally.     Bored of run-of-the-mill community services? Our signature event starringCARWASH promises to excite and reignite your passion for community service! Working together with Buona Vista Grassroots Organisation, this year’s carwash will be held at Holland Village. Our aim is to raise funds for ‘My Buona Vista Place’, which reaches out to over 20,000 residents in the Buona Vista estate. Besides inculcating the spirit of volunteerism, starringCARWASH will be a meaningful and unforgettable experience. Join us as we reach out to the community in this fun-filled event!

    Wanna be part of the biggest CSP? Wanna do it in a fun BUT meaningful way? Join starringSMU now and participate in starringGIVESBACK! This year, starringGIVESBACK will be the platform for you to impact over 5000 beneficiaries who are spread across a wide array of homes. Do your part for society by engaging them in a myriad of activities such as workshops, games and even a FLASHMOB! So what are you waiting for! Join starringSMU now and be part of the hippest and most exciting community service event in SMU!

    Want to have the night of your life? Join us at starringNIGHT where we party with a cause! Designed to be the culmination of the 8-day starringSMU journey, starringNIGHT is definitely an event not to be missed as we come together to celebrate and end on a high note. Groove to music by famous local bands and busk in the merry atmosphere with food and drinks to go around! Have fun and raise funds for ‘My Buona Vista Place’ at the same time! We guarantee that you'll never see community service in the same light again after joining starringSMU!

  • MY BUONA VISTA PLACE

    My Buona Vista Place is a one-stop centre for community interaction and social welfare programmes. The centre reaches out to over 20,000 residents, young and old, who live in the Buona Vista area. Apart from organising regular social activities, the centre is also an information point for those seeking and providing social assistance. Residents can also pick up basic firefighting skills and get crime prevention tips at the centre.

  • KITS FOR KIDS

    The Kits4Kids Foundation is dedicated to providing for children and youth with special needs. Kits4Kids Foundation believes that every child is exceptional and can learn uniquely and this shows in the opportunities made available to them through its various schools and establishments.

    Kits4Kids's social agenda is focused on special education and human development in various social areas. It is mandated to play an active role in supporting the implementation of social services which include promoting access to mainstream education opportunities for disadvantaged groups. Kits4Kids also promotes global awareness through higher education and youth exchange activities. These programmes are conducted with the aim of facilitating greater awareness among youths while creating a vision of a cohesive and caring community. know more

  • SUNLOVE HOME

    Sunlove Home is one of the few charitable Homes in Singapore that provide for patients ranging from 22 to 75 years old. The social stigma surrounding the intellectually-infirmed has caused problems for families who want to care for their loved ones.

    The Home offers compassionate help in rehabilitative programs, which include daily supervision to psychotherapy, occupational, physiotherapy and medical treatment. The objective of this half-way house is to ultimately reintegrate the patients back to their homes and society, restore hope to the individual, and to build their self-esteem and self-worth. know more

  • SALVATION ARMY

    Salvation Army aims to provide education for children from the lower income families. It focuses on the need to assist parents in the educational and social development of their child. The Salvation Army Child Care Centres’ programmes are also carefully designed and planned to maximise a child's full potential. know more
